The Death of a Perfectly Good Pumpkin!

I guess it is what you get for making a snowman face on your jack o' lantern for Halloween: It melts! Yep, my pumpkin has seen better days. In fact, I am sure it is very sad to be seeing the bottom of the smelly dumpster instead of looking out on the eve of Halloween. It will miss the sounds, sights and smells of tomorrow night when the small children are dressed up as goblins, princesses and Spiderman. Sad, sad day for the pumpkin. Pretty sad day for me too, because I had to clean up the bacteria filled mess. There was a pool of pumpkin blood all over. I guess I will know for next year that I am not supposed to put pumpkins on top of shingles. I didn't figure it out til today that those shingles will heat up and kill perfectly good pumpkins! :(

I am tired and sick. Usually,I am tired and sick of school, but really I am sick. My little lovelies probably got me sick. I guess my immune system isn't used to ALL of their germs. My throat hurts and I am so very tired. Last night all I did was just sit in front of the T.V. for five hours and didn't move. Luckily, the Packers were on and it was a good game. I thought they had lost it but luckily they won the toss in overtime and Brett Farve threw a touchdown pass on the first play of overtime. Good game.

It is my Dad's birthday today. I called him and he had to pick on me about not sending him a card. He said all of his other kids actually delivered a present to him. I just made jokes and wasn't honest with him about really missing home this past weekend because everybody was there except me. Don't worry I was only weepy while typing that for a second. I am surviving it. I will get to be home soon enough. I really hope my brother can make it home during the holidays though. I guess we will see what happens.

Well, I better get home I have company coming over in about twenty minutes. Better do a quick clean up. Have a great day and protect your pumpkins, they really need their night of glory! :) I guess it is a good thing my ward didn't have a pumpkin catapult. My pumpkin would have probably disappeared before then!

Writing this from my futon while watching game four of the World Series. Man, I really am enjoying having T.V. a little too much these days. I think it is rotting my brain. Too bad a symptom of addiction is that I can’t stop watching.

Saw “Dan in Real Life” last night. Great movie. You should see it. It made me laugh a lot. I haven’t been to a movie in a long time. I need to go more often.

Too bad I can’t get free internet from home anymore. It is interesting to me how just moving upstairs in the same house messed with my reception. Touchy wireless!

My house is a mess, but I really just didn’t have the energy to clean it this weekend. I just didn’t care. Maybe later this week I will care.

Tomorrow, grades are due. Luckily, mine are pretty much done. I just have to make a few changes because of the attendance policy. Time truly is flying. It is almost November already, crazy!

It is nice to know that my family is starting to read my blog regularly. I think they should start commenting more. They are really nice people. I think all of you other people should meet them someday. I am trying to convince my mother that she should come visit this year. I am also trying to convince her to get a passport and to come to London with me this next summer. So, mom if you are reading this, you just need to do it. Actually, if you can only take on trip this year, let’s go to England.

The Boston Red Sox just won the World Series. That is exciting. Actually, it wasn’t that exciting because they swept the series. The Rockies didn’t even seem like a good ball team. That is crazy. I guess the Curse of the Bambino is officially broken. It is pretty cool that the Sox have won two series in the last five years. It makes me want to watch the movie “Fever Pitch.” Maybe I will pull it out sometime this winter when I am missing baseball season. I don’t think I am excited for the winter to be here. The lack of light lately has been bugging me too. It is so hard to wake up in the morning when it is still dark outside. I am not looking forward to daylight savings either. It is not going to be fun to come home from work at dark most days. That won’t be fun. I better get a full spectrum light so I can be able to fight the darkness of the winter blues.

I am very tired. I better get myself to bed. It is Red Ribbon Week this week at school. Our student counsel took over the planning which has made me very happy because I am usually in charge of it. There will be lots of fun activities this year so that is a good thing. There might just even be a dance too. Weird. Hopefully the students will pull through with it and actually make it happen. It is fun to see them actually get stuff done. I like that we have tried this year to let them have some control in the school. Makes our jobs lots easier.

Well, I hope you all survived Monday. I hope I will too!
