Cattle Drive

I had a wonderful time down in Lynndyl this Saturday "helping" drive the cattle to their summer home in the desert. It was truly an amazing thing to see these cows move along down about 1/2 mile of road and then make a big turn toward the desert. It was also very impressive to see all the farmer men direct them where to go. It is truly an art to get the cows to do what they need to do. I am still a sucker for baby cows and there were a lot of calves that passed by. Moo and I were on one end to stop traffic and her mom was at the other end of the road. We were right by the turn and it was so fun to see this thing of beauty. Cows are not stupid. Okay, so most of them aren't and if you get the smart ones in the front, then the actually know exactly where to turn. It was awesome. Going down to Lynndyl always reminds me of my childhood and the time I spent on the farm with my Grandpa and Uncle. I always thought that I was a farm girl, even though it was only a weekend job for me!

Thank you to Moo's family for letting me be a part of the experience and for supplying me with wonderful food while I was in town!

Other than that, not much has happened this weekend. Friday, I played softball and lost again, but it was as fun as always. I sure do like the beautiful weather of spring and all the fun I get to have outside. I cannot believe that this will be the last full week of school with the kids! Crazy! I will have to enjoy every moment!

Today just plan to go to church and lounge around! Good times. My kind of Sunday!

Have a great week everybody!

Thank you for the video and slide show. I am glad that I sort of made it in the slide show, well, I will pretend that Moo was talking to me on the phone. I think your slide show and video caught the essence of the cattle drive. Thanks again for documenting the event!

Thank you so much for posting about this! I especially loved the pictures and video (from the sounds of it you would think you were in a diesel truck, but I'm fairly certain you were in the big blue boat). Our family isn't always the best about taking and posting pictures so I loved being about to see home, the cows, and the dogs. Funny how those cows are one of the few things that can make me a little homesick. ha ha
