Why am I up at 11:45, you ask?

Ok. I am the world's worst blogger these days. I think this is connected to me being the world's worst getter to bed earlier. I seem to get too busy to write or sleep. It is a crazy phenom.

Time is quickly sailing. School is going very well. I am not irritated by any student. It is good.

I don't have much else for you. I guess we are just back into the swing of the monotony of things.

Off to bed I go.

Parkour

Kristi and friends doing Parkour in the gym last friday! Me and my crew today doing Parkour in Kirsten's classroom.

We love The Office at my work. So much that we often play jokes on each other that come directly from the show. Last Friday, Kristi(counselor) got a bunch of people to come and do Parkour(which is a sport in which people creatively get from point A to point B) in the gym because the opening scene from the show the previous night had the characters doing Parkour through the office. So funny. I will add the clip from the actual show below.

Today, during my prep period, I got some people together and we did the same thing to Kirsten. It was so funny and the highlight of the day. I thought it was so very funny that Kirsten asks what is happening and then totally joins in with us. It is funny. I hope you get a kick out of it as much as I did! We are pretty much hilarious. Also, notice how the kids have no idea what we are doing and think we are crazy!

So Here I am, Once Again....

Yes, Morgan: Torn into Pieces.

To everybody else. That was a Kelly Clarkson song. It just came to mind. I have not done a Stream of Consciousness post in a long time so here be it. (I know my sister loves when I post like this). So, I guess this could be dedicated to her even if it is not her birthday or anniversary or something. Like you know...Haloween. How the heck to you spell Halloween? I think I spelled it right the second time. No need for spell check here. I actually read a students' work earlier this week and it was in Stream of Consciousness. Do you really capitalize that?

Living the dream. That is what I do. I went frisbee golfing today. My course here in Provo is quite beautiful. Kristi from work went with me. It has been a while since it was just me and her and it was nice to catch up. It is all a blur right now. It really went fast. I sure do like Kristi. It is sad that Blogger doesn't like the way she spells her name. I think somebody should complain. I don't want to though because it would be a lot of work. I think that makes me a not so good friend because I should be standing up for Kristi and her name.

Tuna. That is what my kitchen smells like tonight(I just spelled spells instead of smells. You can read it either way! I think my kitchen would spell like tuna(not very well) too!) I like to use parentheses but I do not like to spell parentheses. I ate a tuna sandwhich for dinner. Don't you judge. I was lazy and tired and lazy and had to try to prove that playing the bass on Guitar Hero at hard was way easier than playing guitar at medium. It was hard to prove but don't tell anybody, that is private information that is going to stay between me and me for a very long time. Some girl I know thought it wasn't easier. Silly girl.

I am tired. I am going to bed. I am not creative. Or am I? Fresca is yummy. Fresca Black-Cherry is even yummier. Yummier is not a word is it? But does more yummy sound any better? I think not. I watched 90210 tonight and totally admit it.

Did you know that your weight in gold is a lot? Actually, I don't know but I hear that gold prices are good right now. So if you were made of gold I would suggest that you sell yourself. Ebay might be the best way but who knows. I have never sold something on Ebay. I have never sold myself either. That could be a little weird, but I do think I am worth a lot. I would pay at least 900 dollars for me. That is about how much I have to pay to even the score with the hospital. I am worth at least that much even if I don't like to pay that much because I like my money. I would rather use it to buy Playstation Games or a plane ticket somewhere. SIGH.

So, did you know that it is only 45 days until Kelly Clarkson plays in Las Vegas. I bet you were thinking about that. Or you weren't...either way I would win that bet. Too bad I like my money too much and wouldn't bet either way. But I would bet 900 dollars that my surgeon wouldn't be able to fix me and I would totally lose.

I like to send text messages to people in the same room as me. Nobody is in the room with me right now so I will not text them. I did send a text about four minutes ago, right before I started typing this. I bet you can't guess who it was to! But wait, as I have already stated, I do not like to gamble. But I bet you can't guess who it is unless you are her. Oh wait, I just upped your odds. Dang it; I am so bad at gambling!

If I were to move anywhere in the next year, where would it be? That is an honest question so don't be saying things like The North Pole or anything. Seriously, I think Santa has way too many workers already, although I did hear that the economy has made him lay off some of the elves. Don't worry they found work in Kansas. It is top secret though so be quiet about it. And no I cannot tell you that they are working in diamonds. Oh great, now they are going to have to get new identities thanks to witness protection. Wait....I wasn't supposed to tell you that.

Well, it is past the time of my entry to dreamland so I will leave you with one last thought......

Here is the Recipe

Jojo wanted the recipe for these cookies and I thought it would be nice for more of you to have it too. They will clog your arteries but they are mighty good! I also thought it would be cute to let you just read the whole email from my dad. He is cute! Here it is:

Ali,

Below is the recipe from grandma's cookbook. The recipe originally came from Aunt Mick in 1955, and they were called Sneakers.

1 cup soft shorteniing 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs
Mix thoughly. Sift and stir in:
2 3/4 cups flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Chill for a couple hours. Form cookies into balls about the size of walnuts.

Roll balls in a mixture of:
2 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 400 degree oven untill slightly browned.

Mom said to tell you that cream of tartar is a spice, not a dairy product, and can be found in the spice isle. Let us know how they turn out.

Love Dad

Snickerdoodles!

Earlier this week, I got the recipe for what my Great Aunt Mickey called "Sneakers," from my dad. You and I would call them Snickerdoodles. They actually turned out fabulous. I had a little bit of a hard time trying to get the size right, but by the third cookie sheet, I had it down. Enjoy the pictures, while I enjoy the cookies! :)

Saturday IS a special day!

Hi all. I should have amazing pictures of the first Burger Friday of the school year to post but I did not bring my camera or even think to take pictures of the first ever Monthly Guitar Hero Party. Sad. I had about six people over after Red Robin to play and it really was a blast. We even got people who refused to sing at the beginning to eventually serenade us! :)

I really do have great friends, don't I?

Not much else to tell you today. I have been pretty much the laziest person on the planet today. I woke up late and then watched our flag football team (Independence High) get beat in overtime. I then came home and played Guitar Hero and watched some of my DVRed shows from the week. I am about to go and take a walk and then I am going to hit the grocery store. I figure I will go shopping while all the silly people are at the stadium watching the BYU football game. The city is crazy on game day! I may bake some cookies tonight. I was going to for the party last night but never got the motivation or time.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.

I think I am going to start writing a social skills blog....

Post #1: Do not spit gum on sidewalks or floors. When in the tragic dilemma of having yucky gum in your mouth look all around. In most places, you will be less than fifty feet from a garbage can. Walk to garbage can and spit your gum out into it.

It does not make anybody happy to have gum on their shoe, even if it smells minty fresh!

There is the social skill that I taught my boys PE class today. I found fresh gum on the floor after the janitor had just washed it about an hour before. It got on my shoe and I was pissed!

I really get to teach such valuable lessons!

Hiking in Rock Canyon

Today was long at school. From a possible broken tailbone(student not me) to an almost fight in Boys' PE to a kid hacking all over the place, it just seemed long. It did go fast in some ways, which is good.

I went hiking with Kirsten (a new teacher at our school). She is pretty darn cool because she is pretty much my twin. We are very similar in personality and have a great time together. We hiked Rock Canyon and then picked up pizza and played Guitar Hero. It was way fun. We even convinced Janette to come and play with us on a school night! Crazy!

That is pretty much it. I truly love hiking in the fall. The colors are starting to change up there. It did make me sad the other day when I thought that winter is just behind fall but I have since reminded myself to live in the moment and enjoy the colors and fall in general.

Almost Midweek

Today went fast. I should be sleeping but I am not. I did a lot of cleaning tonight. People are coming over for Guitar Hero on Friday night after Burgers. We got paid today. I was excited but I am also not excited to see what I owe for my surgery.

I think this will be short. I am going hiking tomorrow so I think there will be pictures to add tomorrow. Look forward to that.

Just a note. I had a Kelly Clarkson free week. I thought I was getting a little obsessed. It was good. I was reminded that I have a ton of good music. I think my other music had gotten jealous. I am looking forward to listening to Kelly again tomorrow though. lol!

New Vinyl Sign

I just hung this sign over my front door. I love that quote because it reminds me of all the lessons I have learned from Challenge Day and Next Step. (learn more at challengeday.org) Each day I will be reminded that I am in control of my story! :) This is one of the two new signs I bought at the scrapbook expo. They were cheap!

The Packers came back from behind and beat the Bears tonight. It was pretty loud with my screaming in my living room. I was very happy.

Not much else. Had a good weekend. They do go much too fast, though. SIGH!

Hockey and things.

Okay. Who's idea was it to totally not blog for the whole week. Where did the time go? I think sometimes my life is still in a time warp post-surgery.

The week was mostly filled with work. The kids have been so good this term. It is making me worry that they are setting me up for something. I hope my classes remain small, although I know that the district will see we are not up to the numbers they want and send the troops on over to us.

Wednesday I had my post-op checkup and it seems that everything is healing nice. I can even start exercising again. Of course it is Sunday now and I still haven't started but it is a thought right?

I didn't sleep much this week. I kept waking up every two hours for unknown reasons. Then on Thursday I stayed up way too late watching a movie and playing Guitar Hero with one of our new hourly teachers. I am not even going to complain about the loss of sleep because in general, I have a great time with her. She is hilarious and totally can pick on me. She is already fitting right in at our school too. I really like getting new friends and it is fun to just click with people.

Lately, I feel really up and positive. Except when I am not. haha. The funny thing is that I really do feel great overall. Moments like bad traffic and insensitive people doing stupid stuff get in the way of it being 100%, but I really am enjoying my life right now. My job is good, I have great friends and an awesome family. Why wouldn't I be happy?

Tonight, I dragged Megan to the BYU-USU Hockey game here in Provo. It was pretty much a blow-out by USU which makes this Aggie happy. It has been nice to have Megan here again. We get a long well and are perfectly content with just hanging out and staring at the walls. Just kidding we really don't stare but that is what Megan calls just being. We went up to Salt Lake last night and attended a Scrapbook Expo. I told myself I wasn't going to spend too much money but ended up with quite a bit of stuff. My sister would have loved that place. There were so many vendors and so much stuff to make creative scrapbook pages! I will have to post the picture of all the stuff I bought later. I seem to have lost my cord to my camera. SIGH.

Well, I probably should be sleeping but I might just take in an episode of House. Gotta get caught up before it starts in a week or so!

Hope the weekend is treating you well. Enjoy the pics of hockey and one of my favorite things on earth, The Zamboni!

Labor Day Weekend

So why do they call it Labor Day if most people really just stay home and don't labor? Curious.

I had a great time in Vegas with the Bills family. Every time I mention said family, I feel like I need to explain The Bills and why they are like my second family. Or actually, more precisely, my other family. I met the Bills back in 1994. They pretty much opened their home and their hearts to me. They have even adopted me in a way. Whenever one of the Bills kids gets married, there are family pictures. I try to get out of the picture because I feel they should have a real family pic without me, but they always refuse. It is like I am family. I find it kinda cool to have two families because wherever I am, there is family. I love both my families, so please families, don't be jealous of each other! You are all awesome!

Morgan and Derek live in Vegas and just moved to a very cosy place way north of the strip. It is a nice place and I always love visiting them. Their three boys are so dang cute. I just want to squish them! Spencer decided that Alice was too hard to say so he would sometimes call me "Alalalala." Henry kept hitting me in the butt even though I told him a million times that my butt is a little tender. I guess three year olds just don't get that! Oliver smiled and smiled at me. He makes my heart happy. I have been really happy to have my second family because I get to be an aunt to wee little kids. I haven't got that with my own family so it is nice to have it. (NOW...I totally love my other neices and nephews too. See how I feel this guilt like I should only have a heart for my biological family, even though many of them are not biological either!)

We did some hiking in Nevada and I was pleasantly surprised that there could be beauty so near the grossness of the strip.(Don't get me wrong I love my Belagio Fountains, but The Strip really isn't my favorite place!) I even had the crazy thought that I could actually handle living there It was a fun hike, even if we thought it was much shorter and less strenuous than it was. I enjoyed it highly and found a great sense of accomplishment when I reached the teeny tiny waterfall at the top. The waterfall wasn't stellar but the view of the valley below was!

We also ate some great food and visited tons. We even played a bit of trivia via my tv plug in Buzztime. Way fun.

I felt like I need a vacation from my vacation at the end of work today. I am a lazy butt and just watched some episodes of House online. I am finally catching up from when my DVR died last spring.

I must now go get my Guitar Hero on.

Enjoy the pics of the hiking and fun trip. Relish in the beauty of the fountains, too. CHEERS! Also, the music is for Joshy Washy. He and I traveled together from Provo to Vegas. We sung "Behind These Hazel Eyes" in different octaves in honor of his hazel eyes. It was hilarious!

Midweek

Hi. Life seems to be pretty much back to normal here. Except for the fact that I take a bazillion drugs everyday and take at least two baths. Other than that, my life is back to what it was pre-surgery.

Normalcy in life has brought me to the blog with not much to say. School was school. I was tired by it. I kicked my first kid out of class of the year. He decided it was okay to make PE more of an "In-N-Out" burger joint than class. He kept just leaving whenever he felt like it to talk to people who were waiting to get their pictures taken(it was picture day, obviously.) I am sure he had a fun time in the office with the vice principal. Good times. He didn't seem too mad at me when he came to my 4th hour. Yep, I am lucky enough to have the lovely twice a day.

Speaking of In-N-Out, it is going to be a very bad thing when they open that place in Orem. I love In-N-Out Burger. I may just gain one hundred pounds. Yum! I think I am going to eat there this weekend. Viva Las Vegas, baby!

Well, that is all I have. I hope you were able to find some non-monotony in your day! Cheers!

Another First Day of School.

I went back to work today. It was nice to have so many people excited to see me. Lots of students were happy to see me and many of my co-workers were also happy to see me. It was nice. It did make me pretty darn tired though.

I made myself wash some dishes before I let myself play Guitar Hero tonight. I think it will be a good motivator, if I keep making myself do stuff before I can play. It is really sad that I am addicted to a video game and I am 32 years young.

I don't have much else to say. So there you have a very short post!
