Life.

This week flew by. Crazy. Life is just plugging along. Not too much in news besides the whole getting the gallbladder out on Wednesday. Other than that not much new.

I did spend time up in Sandy with the other family this weekend. I overate and felt not so good on Saturday morning. I guess that is what you get for eating the large fry. I had to get them in before the surgery though.

Morgan helped me make an awesome cape. It is secretive but it is full of superpower! I may just wear one everyday! Thanks Morgan....you rock!

We did a lot of running around the valley on Saturday after I got a run in. The pic with the mountains during the day is from the run. It was fun to hang with both Sarah and Morgan and the kiddos and the Derek.

Today we had a picnic in the mountains. It was gorgeous. I sure do love living here. It is a nice place. I also love living around those cute boys. I am so lucky to be an aunt to wee ones even though my biological siblings didn't have wee ones. I am a lucky adopted girl! I have two great families. They all make me happy.

The pic of the deer is from work. We basically have a zoo classroom around the place!

I hope this next week is full of surprises for us all. And good ones at that!

Out with the old....

This is the excitement of the day. I bought a new straightener because mine died. It actually quit functioning on picture day at school. Good thing I had the help of my girls' PE class to straighten my hair because it turned out to be an awesome picture!

I will have my gallbladder removed next Wednesday for those that were curious! Good times. You can all send me love and stuff Wednesday.

I also went to the movie Knight and Day tonight. It is majorly funny and I would recommend it. It wad fun to go out on a weekday. Yep, I live on the edge sometimes!

Well, better sleep. Hope your day was full of cotton candy and rainbows. It rained today and it was awesome. It sounded so cool on the roof of the gym. Especially when it was hailing! The crickets are happy right now. I love this time of year!

Gallbladders and stuff.

Tell me about your experiences with gallbladder removal. According to my HIDA scan, my gallbladder is only emptying at 9%. To me that means there is something wrong with it. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday and I want to know what to expect and if any of you may have opted not to have surgery and what you did to not have to deal with contant pain, gas, etc. People giving me advice this far has been mixed. Let the comments rip!

A fun weekend.

I went to Heber City on Friday night and stayed with my friend, Kristi and her husband. We watched a movie and stayed up late talking. Then Saturday, Kristi and I went four wheeling near her family's cabin. It was a blast. We took the shortcut and enjoyed the fall colors. It was gorgeous. Have I ever mentioned how much I love fall? Well, I do.

I loved watching Kristi be a farmer out back of her house. Her chickens are pretty darn cool. Curt, her husband, made a pretty cool chicken coop for the chickens. He is nice. They both treated me well and it was like I went to a hotel for the weekend. It was a very relaxing and fun time. The weekend was awesome.

Last night I was up at the Bills. They are good to me too. Great food and even greater company as always.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the surgeon. I guess I will have news about when my gallbladder will meet its fate!

I am tired and off to bed. Thanks for reading.

A good night for a ball game!

Good times on Friday playing softball after burger friday at Red Robin. We lost the first game but came from behind to win the second. Fun!

Right Here! Right Now!

That is a picture of me in my office. I like my office. That is where I am right now and what I am doing is blogging because I am ready for class and not wanting to grade the assignments that are piling up on my desk.

Tonight is Parent-Teacher Conferences. It will be fun. At least, I am deciding that it will be. Even if nobody comes, I have a great book I am reading. Read The Hunger Games. Great book...I am addicted lately.

I found out yesterday that my gallbladder hates me and must be removed. I will be having to have another surgery. I figure after two surgeries in two years, I will be covered for a while when it comes to illness. I also am hoping my gallbladder weighs ten pounds and then I will be at my goal weight.

I have had a busy week, but if you asked me what I have been up to, I wouldn't have an answer. It is a blur. I have enjoyed sitting on my couch and watching TV at night and catching up with a few friends.

It has been a great week. I did think to myself this week that I actually get paid to do this job. It is a blast and really I should have to pay admission or something.

Here are some funnies from class this week. I was playing AC/DC's song Thunderstruckand one of my students kept singing: "Sundance" whenever "Thunderstuck" was being sung. It was hilarious. This same students always says "QUE?"(Spanish for WHAT?) when he thinks something is weird or funny and I have been saying it a lot these days too...but of course it is in a funny high pitched voice.

Well, better get back to work. Cheers!

Good Times.

This week felt long in the middle of it, even though it went really fast looking back from the other end of the weekend. School is rolling along. Most of my classes are very tiny, including one with just two students. Imagine, if you will, how difficult it is to do say group work with TWO kids. Yeah...it doesn't work. But I love my students and I am loving my job, even if it has political issues and my classes are small. I really think I may write a book about the stupidity that is school politics. Unfortunately, it would be boring and pretty much nobody would read it. So maybe I won't write it!

I have been slowly getting my apartment cleaned up. I finished cleaning the front room carpet yesterday. It feels good to have clean carpet. I am still on a rampage to get rid of things I do not need. The clutter around me is killing me. It is a slow process but it is getting there! How did I get so much crap?

Friday, I had fun hanging with the Sandy family and eating burgers. Man, I love a good cheeseburger. I sure do love my little nephews. Oliver was especially cute with his blue face from his lollipop from dinner and while in the car he was sleepy and I put my hand on his face and he rubbed my arm. It is a good thing I have these wee ones around to get my baby time in! After dinner I played two softball games with a friend from church on his work team. We lost both games but it is fun to be playing again.

Yesterday, I hit the farmer's market where I found a place that has good beef to buy. I watched Food Inc. a month ago and really am not impressed with out meat supply in this country. I want grass fed beef and I think I will be able to get it through this company. Do not watch that movie if you do not want to change your views on food! Just a warning. I then went on a hike with my friend, Jane, who teaches at my school. We took her dogs and it was a fun little adventure to Stewart Falls. I am loving hiking in Utah. It is so pretty. Notice in the pics that the leaves are starting to change up there. I sure do love fall. It has been nice to have the weather a little cooler to sleep at night.

Last night was a baby shower for Shule, a former teacher at my school. It was fun to see her all glowing and to eat the great food her mother made. It was a great time.

I then went home and ran on my new treadmill. It was a great deal and I am enjoying having it...even though running outside will always trump the dreadmill! That thing was only 100 clams. Can you believe it? Me either. I am a lucky girl! That thing will make life in the winter easy. Well maybe not easy because it is major work to get myself to get on those things...but it will be handy.

Cheers!

More Onion Days 5k Pics...

Here are more pics of the race on Monday. It was fun to have Isaac run me in! I think all the people in the pictures looking at me are really just jealous of my hot socks.

This week is flying by. Been a bit busy with cleaning of carpets and getting some of the things I don't need out of my house and life.

Don't have much....life is good!

Labor Day!

Ran my fastest 5k yet, today. It felt great! Payson is a pretty place. Maybe I should get more serious about looking for houses down there. It was nice and cool this morning(basically COLD) so it was nice racing weather. It was fun to see sunrise over the mountains while running the race!

Josh(the brother from another mother) even ran. We had socks that people were jealous of. We are pretty cool. Pancake breakfast was at a friend's house afterward and it was fun to see her out in the real world of life(she is my Weight Watchers leader!) It was very nice that there was a bonfire, not only for Josh to try and roast a peach, but because it was COLD! The deer head was in the front of somebody's yard in Payson. I guess you know you are in Payson when you see a deer head in somebody's yard. Weird. I sang: "Deer heads, Deer heads, rolly poley deer heads" to Josh. He was not impressed. I was impressed with his candy fetching skills at the parade. He is a goof!

It was a fun day. More race pics to come shortly.

Hiking

Went hiking up Dry Creek Canyon with Jane. It was so pretty. I must get back into hiking.

Also hit The Storytelling Festival's Laughin' that night. It was very funny and a really nice evening. What a great weekend this is turning out to be.

Pics include hiking(one is of Mt. Timponogos from a ways away. It was funny because Jane was joking around and said: "They really should come up with a name for that mountain." I just played along not realizing that it was Timp and was like yeah...they really should...I didn't really know it was Timp...so it was funny). That house I am looking into buying in my next life when I am rich. Can you believe that waterfall?

Yeah. I live here!

I was awe struck by the pretty mountains yesterday. It made me glad to be back in Utah. Weird. Sometimes I don't like that I live in Utah but other times I am really content with it. Why is that?

I was playing tennis with a friend yesterday when I realized that the mountains were just so pretty.

The week has been just pretty typical. I guess I am back in grove again!

Here are some funny conversations from Health Class today:

1. A girl asked if I was married or dating anybody. I told her that was a pretty personal question but answered anyway.

2. Same girl mentioned how she always wants to eat chocolate while menstruating. The boys all thought that conversation was too much and inappropriate for school. I laughed. They compared it to talking about their crotch and I disagreed. It was just funny. Maybe you had to be there.

3. A real funny part of the previous conversation was that another boy who was not listening very closely said: "Who's a lesbian?" and we all laughed at him because we never mentioned lesbians. It as funny too...but maybe you had to be there.

An other exciting note. I was looking into subscribing to the Salt Lake Tribune and it was way too expensive but I have discovered that we get the paper at school and I can take a copy for free each day. Bonus. Isn't it wonderful how the little things can make me so excited?
