Halloween Festivities.

A few of the teachers dressed up for Halloween yesterday. It is so fun to dress up. As you can see by my awesome cape, I am Awesome Alice for Halloween this year! I am pretty excited to go trick or treating later tonight with those cute boys. I am so lucky to have wee ones around to celebrate with. That pic is from last sunday, we watched the Packer game together. It was stellar.

We had burgers last night and it was so yummy. It was really a low key Friday night. I was glad for it!

This is a short post. I have some things to get done before heading up to Salt Lake for all the celebrations. I am pretty dang excited to eat Panda Express as well. It is a Bills tradition and I am way excited for Orange Chicken. I really do live for food. :)

Pumpkins and More Baby Time!

Last night I was able to meet Levi. Erin and Isaac are very good parents already. It was so fun to be able to see them as parents now. It is cool how people naturally fit into the role of parent.

Today was good. The day went real fast. I am okay with that. I am very glad it is Friday tomorrow and that Halloween is this weekend. I am excited to hang with the second family and see the kiddos trick or treat! They are always so cute.

I like my pumpkins...they are cute, eh? I carved one at church on Tuesday at an activity. It was fun.

Well, off to bed. Thought I should write though seeing I am doing so well this week! :) Cheers!

Baby Time.

So it is Wednesday. I seriously thought it was Wednesday yesterday. For some reason, I have been a geriatric lately and my brain is a slow functioner. It has made for some interesting moments when I can't remember a word and make up one. I am thinking the reason why I am slow is because my body is still recovering from the lack of sleep while partying in Logan this past weekend.

Monday I was able town meet my friend's, Shule's, baby. Elia is such a cute peanut. I am kinda a sucker for babies as you can tell by that silly grin in the first photo. Right now there is a total of four new babies had by friends in the past two weeks. It is a good that I have good friends who take care of my baby hunger needs.

This Friday will be the end of the first term. It is kinda weird to think it is already here. Just moving along and being happy with the right here and now. Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Crazy.

It snowed here last night. I am trying to think it is pretty and not complain about it. Seriously, it will be a LONG winter, if I forget that positivity makes everything more bearable.

Well. Enjoy your midweek. I know I will! And happy World Series to you!

The Pumpkin Walk and Fun with Alisha.

So. The weekend was amazing. I got to spend time with one of my favorite people in the world, in one of my favorite places in the world. It was destined to be amazing. The lack of sleep was totally worth it.

We had our traditional Pumpkin Walk night on Friday. We went to The Factory Pizzaria and had an amazing sausage and mushroom pizza. We then headed over to the walk. I think it was the best I've seen in ten years. Way to go North Logan for the great experience. We then stayed up much too late and woke up in time to get to the Utah State Homecoming Parade.

We then headed to lunch and then to the Logan Temple. We then had Aggie Ice Cream. I love Pecan Praline. Yum! (I am pretty sure all the amazing food I ate this weekend will cause a week of no loss this week!)
We then shopped and shopped had a tasty dinner and then carved pumpkins. I drove home Sunday morning and taught in Relief Society at church.

It was one full and fun weekend. Thanks Lish!

Here are some of the hilarious things that were said by us. We pretty much are the silliest when together:

Me: "I'm so geriatric I just forgot about you saying 'You would' after two seconds."
Alisha: "I'm gonna pee my pants. Now that's geriatric!"

Lish is deaf so she said "huh?" a lot. She also heard "Dust eater" when I said "back door guest."

I was excited to use my flashlight app when we were getting pumpkins and said: "There's an app for that." Alisha then said "Um. I am pretty sure every phone has a lighted screen that works like that." She thought it was hilarious.

Me: "You make me laugh."
Lish: "It's because you are so funny!"

Lish thought it was hilarious when I asked her if she knew the back way to her house. I thought it was an honest question.

Lish: "I cut and highlighted my hair's friend."

Alisha thought I was crazy when I told her she could give me some tips when she did my make-up. I was not implying that she should pay me!

A Midweek In Review.

It is Wednesday. I feels like it should be next week. It is dragging. At the same time, the days seem to fly by quickly when I am thinking about it at 11:30 when I am finally getting myself to bed. I must be better about getting to bed by 10:30. It makes s huge difference.

I cleaned out my closets and dresser on Monday and I have FOUR garbage bags full of clothes to take to Deseret Industries. It feels good to rid myself of non-fitting clothes. It is almost as if I am ridding myself of the things in my life I don't want anymore. My weight transformation really had been so much more than just losing weight. I feel like I am a better person inside and that is nice.

The kids are playing Badminton in PE this week. I get a little bored just watching. I played a bit yesterday, but it made my side a little sore. Guess I still have to take it a bit easy!

I am looking forward to a little trip to Logan for the weekend. I love that little city. I think I would live there if I didn't feel like I was supposed to be living in Provo.

Well, I better go and tape some racquets. Don't be jealous!

Oh and the pics are from a bonfire I went to last night. I almost forgot to mention it because it was kind of uneventful and very awkward. It was a church activity and let's just say, my ward is special!

Another Week in Review.

I feel a little geriatric and can't remember what photos I emailed for this post. I do remember that I have one with me and my cape that will be a part of my Halloween costume.(Thanks Morgan!) I also remember a few pics of my walk from Friday. Thursday I cleaned with my new steam mop. It is my new favorite cleaning appliance. I also had my car tuned up. Thrilling stuff to do on fall break, no? Friday I slept in and went to Park City and bought some clothes. It was a fun trip with a friend followed by food from In-And-Out. Saturday was fabulous because I slept until 11. I then went shopping again and then ate Panda Express(I had been craving it for a while!) and watched a movie with the other fam!

Sorry I have been a slacker of a blogger. Maybe this week will be better. Maybe not.

The other pics are of the kiddos at The Bills tonight being silly and the balloons are how we decorated for a co-workers birthday. I liked that sign because I sometimes feel like we still live in the ice ages because it is still an insult to throw "like a girl" and some people still think it is funny to tell sexist jokes like: "what do you say to a woman with two black eyes? Nothing she has already been told twice!" I don't find it funny at all. The world sucks sometimes in its viewpoints. I'm just saying!

Week in Review.

I started a new grateful list on my whiteboard in my kitchen. It was fun to read through last year's list. It was interesting that one of the first things was that I was thankful for good doctors. This year I am glad again for that. Thanks goodness that there are people who want to cut people open and harvest organs. Eww...but thanks!

The sunsets have been amazing this week. I love going to work and seeing awesome sites like the one seen here! I love the storminess of Fall!

I have been enjoying my job. The kids really are good this year. I am so lucky to teach them. Again, I feel like I am teaching so much more than just Health and Physical Ed. I am also teaching them how to live better and more importantly how to treat each other better! Girls' PE is a challenge but very fun. They were very entertaining while playing dodgeball this past Friday. Pure Animals!

We had out first awards assembly of the year. It is hard to think we are getting pretty close to the end is the first term and Fall Break. A few teachers got pie in the face at the assembly. I am glad I was not one of them!

I haven't been losing weight the past few weeks, I feel I do have a good excuse with the whole recovering from surgery stuff, and I am looking good, if I do say so myself!

Yesterday, I walked in a Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Salt Lake with a few friends. It was nice to get out and be moving even if it was chilly!

Last night, I went and hung with the Bills. We ate pizza and launched rockets. It was a blast. I sure do love Morgan's wee ones. I also enjoyed carpooling with Erin and Isaac. We always have good conversation and laughs!

It's hard to think the weekend is almost over, but it is nice to go to work tomorrow knowing that I will have Thursday and Friday free! Yipee.

Hope the fall is treating you all well so far. Cheers!

The Weekend.

Me out walking. My arm post IVs. Oliver after dinner tonight.

It has really been a great weekend. I haven't been in much pain and I have been surrounded by cool people. The weather has been nice for walking(which I do a lot of to avoid the blood clots.). And I ate burgers and fries and did not have any sort of crazy symptoms thanks to being gallbladderless. Interesting huh? I guess one that is working at 9% really doesn't do much and my body has already adjusted! Go body go!

General Conference for my church was awesome. I love to hear the leaders of my church tell of what is right and wrong in our world. For some it seems harsh, for me it just makes sense.

Friday, I watched a movie with a friend. It has been so nice to have great friends who have taken care of me. Morgan deserves the dedication award for putting up with me before and after surgery and getting my prescriptions in. The ladies from work deserve a big above and beyond award for making a rotation list of people to be with after surgery on Wednesday. IT was good that I was not alone and nauseous. Kerri gets the thanks for sleeping on a crappy futon award. IT is a great award...it probably has something to do with being able to sleep in for like five days in a row. Just have lounged the weekend away. Went out to eat last night with the Bills girls while the guys went to Priesthood meeting. It was fun. Shule came to visit today and brought evil cinnamon rolls. Now it is time to sleep and get up to work tomorrow. Thrilling.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers this week. Keep them going for a quick recovery!

Cheers.

Goodbye Pepe.

Ignore the third pic if you don't like gory inerds. It is a pic of the diseased gallbladder. The other pics are of me pre-surgery and out for a walk today.

Hi all. It is day two post surgery and I am feeling much better. Not completely 100% yet, but I am getting there. The operation seemed to go well and it is funny how my body reacted to it. I have this cute little bubble in my belly above my belly button. I guess in order to take that dang gallbladder out they had to pump me full of gas in order to have the room to use the scopes. It has seemed to go down in swelling the more I get out and walk. I have also been weighing myself often and I was up about 15 lbs at one point. It has slowly gone down. Crazy how much fluid can weigh as well!

I am glad I got that thing out of me. Looks like it was caked with black disease. Funny how I thought I was crazy all these years while in pain. I think this all started when I was in college. Glad I pushed the subject with my doctor or this may have never been taken care of!

I am recovering well and it is almost time for the pain meds again. I get a little loopy on those but it is better than being in pain! Maybe it is good I blogged prior to being hopped up on them again! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them. Sorry if you were grossed out by the pic. I think it demonstrates why that sucker had to come out!
