Sassy Sunday.

Today, I spent a lot of time preparing my lesson for Relief Society on Pride. Read it HERE. It is a great talk that really reminds us that we should spend a lot less time worrying about ourselves and offer our service to others. I enjoyed learning about this topic and the discussion in my class was very good.

After church, I headed up to Layton and hung with Morgan and Derek and the boys. You can read about their adventures HERE. We had dinner and played. I sure do love those little boys. I found some really cute Batman PJs for Spencer for only $3.50. What a smashing deal. Henry was a little sad that he did not get any. I felt bad but I also did buy him and Oliver some finger puppets. They liked them.

Now, it is time for bed and to say goodbye to another weekend. It went way too fast, but it was a very enjoyable few days!

Super Saturday

Aiden and I played a little UNO in the morning as well as Guitar Hero. It is kinda interesting to try to teach an 8 year old how to play Guitar Hero. He did get the hang of it and we eventually rocked Michael Jackson's Beat It!

I then took him to McDonald's for lunch. I had a Shamrock Shake. Not sure if it was worth the 11 Weight Watchers Point Plus Values, but it was okay and needed to be drank. I have to have at least one a day.

Later, I met up with my other Dad, Josh the other brother, and Isaac the brother-in-law at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and was able to do some baptisms for the dead for some of my deceased ancestors. It really was a spiritual experience and I feel so honored to have done this work. To learn more about baptisms for the dead, click HERE. And another link about temples is HERE!

After being in the temple, we met up with Erin and Anne and had dinner at Su Casa and then ate yogurt at Frogurt. It was fabulous and I have been eating way to much lately.

Fries Friday.

Burger Friday at Red Robin was fabulous. The small fry who stayed at my house was  very entertaining. We watched a movie. Okay, Aiden watched a movie. I fell asleep! It was fun to have him! He loved sleeping in my tent in my front room. Yay for sleepovers!

Thoughtless Thursday

You can just call me Sue, from Glee! Thursday was dress as your future career day as part of our career week at school. I think I look quite professional in my new workout suits!

The other pic has to do with the milk I bought my Leadership class for the Valentines extravaganza. Well, to save it from the faculty room beast, who often eats other people's food, I wrote all over the jug. My favorite bit was "Do not drink, Poison!" Anyway, I declared it not poison this week and a few of my co-workers have been drinking it. My favorite thing is that they kind of have had the competition where one person feels the others need more milk and keep sneaking in refills, even when the person drinking doesn't want anymore. It makes me laugh. Another thing that makes me laugh from the lunchroom is the idea that a co-worker came up with. He thinks that all of our drains should be connected to Africa. That way, when we dispose of food down the drain, we will be helping the world hunger problem. Another co-worker said that they would use their disposal to make baby food for African babies. They make me laugh!

It helps the days go by pleasantly to work with funny people! Love it!!

Want of Words Wednesday.

Great day! Gmail makes me laugh. Silly spam folder! My co-workers never cease to humor me at lunch either! Indian food rocks. I tried a new naan bread and it was life changing. I like weigh in wednesdays! The End!

Temple Tuesday

Have you noticed the clever titles lately? Ok, so maybe they aren't always cleaver because I am usually posting right before I go to sleep and the brain isn't so sharp. Of course, my memory is never the sharpest. I feel like a geriatric sometimes and it makes me feel frustrated sometimes, but in many ways forgetting stuff can be a blessing. Like when I forget the silly things I have said or the stupid things I have done!

My friend, Kerri, and I went to the temple today. The temple is one of my favorite places on the planet. My day felt pretty crappy and dark and those feelings all left and were replaced by peace and calm as soon as I walked into the temple. I am always in awe of the power that surrounds me there.

Great day!

Thanks George and Abe.

Today was a lot of fun. I was very glad to have the day off(a big thanks goes to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln for that!) and to be able to go and have some fun. I went with the other family to lunch at The Dairy Keen in Heber City and then we went to this really cool ice sculpture in Midway. It is a shame that the ice sculpture will be closed before my mom comes to visit because I would have loved to take her there.

This afternoon, my neighbor kids came over and played with my magnetic poetry and then watched few episodes of The Ant and the Ardvark. It was fun to have them over. They are cute kids. Have I mentioned that I like kids?

I also did a little bit of cleaning. I figure I better start now so it can be in good shape for when mom is here in a week and a half.

It is late, I better get to bed!

Food Friday

The procedure was short and sweet. Sweet because nothing was found wrong with my guts. It was also sweet because I was able to eat food and I may have over indulged. Oooops. I have overindulged the past few days actually(I am writing this on Saturday). I figure it is okay because at one point on Thursday I was down 8 pounds.

It was also fun to hang out with the other family and especially to hold Ezra. He is just so dang cute. Spencer was hilarious at Culver's. He said he liked pickles. I have my doubts! He is cute and funny. Enjoy the pickle video!

Here are some funny things that happened because I was hopped up on drugs:
1. I was drinking a coke right after coming out of anesthesia, and said: "Where did I get this?" Apparently, the doctor had asked me if I wanted a coke and I had even said, "that would be wonderful!" I do remember him asking about Coke and champagne but I didn't realize he was talking to me(I thought he was offering the nurses some, like he was not really talking to me or even near me)
2. I said: "Ah this is what real Coke tastes like, I am never going back to Diet Coke!"
3. I told Morgan it must be really hard to have three kids. She has four!
4. On the way to get frozen yogurt, I rolled down the window and yelled to Papa John's to tell me about their specialty pizzas. They had a sign that said I should! Morgan rolled up my window and then locked it. She said I lost window privileges.
5. I walked into the side mirror of a car at the frozen yogurt place.
6. It took me a long time to put toppings on my yogurt.
7. I kept messing up words.
8. I farted(be easy on me...they pumped my intestines full of air!) and told Josh he is gay. This is a funny that he and I always say but we make farting noises instead of actually farting. He and Caleb always used to really fart because boys are boys. Josh thought I was weird and that my fart was weak. I thought I was hilarious.

I bet there were more funny things but this is all I remembered and wrote down yesterday! It was fun to have a valid excuse to be "drunk." We Mormons have to take what we can get! :)

Not Thirsty Thursday.

Thursday was a day of drinking. Liquid diets are my least favorite thing on the planet. Wait...I take that back. Drinking Magnesium Citrate is my least favorite thing on the planet. NASTY!! The day was also spent becoming close friends with my bathroom. We are good buds.

Good thing I had sub plans ready to go for today because I needed them. I thought I could get away with just taking Friday off for the procedure, but nope...pretty sickly today.

By the way. Jello is so not worth the calories. Just sayin'!

Wednesday

Hi kid. Wednesday was normal. Normal is nice. Jane and I went to Weight Watchers meeting and then to dinner. I told Jane I wasn't really excited to go to Applebee's but Apple sounded delicious(see sign!). It was what I called my Last Supper seeing Thursday and part of Friday I had to plan on a clear liquid diet in preparation for Friday's procedure. Looking back on it now, the Paradise Chicken Salad really was paradise compared to juice and Jello. The End.

Made it Monday and Trendy Tuesday.

Here are some pics of Valentine's Day. Today I did not take any pictures, but I will share with you a funny quote. Let me just go through the pics.

At faculty meeting on Monday, we talked about our social studies department and how they are teaching social skills including respect to their classes. We found it funny that the teacher in charge actually stole the respect sign from a different teacher without asking. Hmmmm. The quote of the day from the meeting was this: "If kids are not doing what they should be during testing, they will be brought to the office and executed." I think our Vice Principal had a Freudian Slip!

My Leadership Class loved their Valentine's party. We had some amazing treats. A few of the kids brought stuff in and my intern(she is from Utah Valley University and is just checking out the teaching profession.) brought cheesecake and soda. I loved it and was in heaven for thirty seconds as I ate my donut.

One of my co-workers gave me that card. Sorry it is sideways but I love the saying which reads: "Who wants a beau anyway." I think that is the most depressing card ever and I LOVE IT! It just made me smile.

The weather was great yesterday and I had a fabulous run outside. I even spoke to those sheep and some ducks along my route.

Today was a nice day too. Went really fast. I like that. My friend Jane was joking around after I had mentioned something about covering my own butt for sub planning and she said: "No you can't cover that, they need access to it." This because I will be having a colonoscopy on Friday. Mom, DO NOT WORRY. Just checking things out. Want to make sure there isn't anything weird going on in there. I am thinking it is just weird IBS stuff, but better to have it checked out, right?

Weekend Special

Due to the fact that it is after 11 and I need to get to bed, I will just make a list of all the fun things I did this weekend. Tomorrow I will blog about the day of love.
1. Picked up my Bountiful Basket in Eagle Mountain. It was a peaceful little drive.
2. Watched the nephews at swim lessons. Cute, no?
3. Held Ezra while he slept. I also for the first time successfully buckled him into his car seat. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it was!
4. Saw five Bald Eagles on Eagle Day!
5. Had amazing pizza with the Hageys.
6. Had "eggs" made by little Oliver.
7. Saw Ninja Beanie Baby.
8. Watched a movie with Morgan and Derek
9. Ate amazing frozen yogurt with M&D.
10. Made an amazing omelet. Not really an omelet but close enough.
11. Cut my finger open pretty deep. No stitches but it hurts. (Guess that wasn't really a fun thing!)
12. Ate an amazing chocolate rose made by a friend from church.
13. Bravely talked to a cute boy at church.
14. Stood in the sun and starred at the temple.
15. Made valentines for the kiddos.

Good weekend for sures. Even with the cut finger.
